We would like to work together with parents and carers to ensure that our students achieve to their best potential. The most important thing any parent can do is take an active interest in the Academy and what their son or daughter is doing in terms of academic work, homework, and how they are taking advantage of all the extra activities and opportunities on offer.

This sets the requirements for good attendance, punctuality and uniform.

Parents will receive progress reports for all subjects every half term.
Twice a year, parents will be able to meet their child's form tutor, who will have a full picture of progress, attainment and attitude to learning right across the curriculum. The student will be expected to attend this meeting and targets will be agreed for the following term.

North Liverpool Academy specialisms are Business and Enterprise, Maths and Computing. The North Liverpool Academy is enthusiastically open to exploring new ideas, strategies and technologies in order to maximise our attainment and to motivate our students to improve and succeed. We utilise the following technologies to make learning at the Academy more innovative and interesting - pod casting for mobile phones, a Virtual Learning Environment for the easy sharing of information - allowing students to access vital resources from the comfort of their own home, Maths Applications and educational DVD's built in house.

For social and mentoring purposes, students are divided into four Houses, identified by a name and colour. Each House will be led by a senior member of staff and supported by a House Manager. Students will stay in the same House throughout their whole time in the Academy. Our Form Tutors are responsible for students academic progress across the whole curriculum and will be the key figure in communicating with parents.

The House system offers many opportunities for students to take responsibility, and develop leadership and team-building skills. Each House will have a Council with formal positions of responsibility, such as House Captains, Sports Captains and Art Captains. There will be a huge variety of Inter-House competitions and challenges.

The students can take part in a number of activities, an example of which is the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The Year 7s recently competed in the Times Spelling Bee Championship local heat. We came 4th and unfortunately didn't get through to the next round but it was a good effort. Well done to all those who took part.

Last night Merseyside Police held their 2nd annual Youth Engagement Reward & Recognition evening and our brilliant Drama Department and students were nominated to receive an award.

The Academy won an award with the citation reading "In recognition of your outstanding effort, dedication and commitment to the 2010 Act Together Initiative, Inside Justice Week and the City Safe Schools Parliament Event."

This Award was presented by the Assistant Chief Constable Colin Matthews and Chief Executive of the Professional Footballers Association Gordon Taylor.
